Hello
I’m so glad you found my page and taking this first step to find someone to meet with. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work providing therapy in North Austin. I was born and raised in Central Texas – I have left several times to live elsewhere – London and California to list a few – but I always returned home. No place can quite live up to the beauty of the hill country, the kindness of strangers and that Austin will always feel like home.
My Style
Whether this is your first time engaging in therapy or just the first time meeting with me I understand that it can be scary and it takes an immense amount of courage to show up in the therapy space. During sessions, I approach the space with gentle curiosity, compassion, and an open heart. I believe that it takes courage and strength to seek help, and we will build upon that strength during our time together. I recognize how important a safe relationship is within the therapy space and that this can take time. It is about the relationship we establish through our work together that change can begin to happen. I have found healing through my own therapy and it is important in our work together for you to know that you are not alone. I see you and I am meeting you in a space free of judgement with compassion and hope.
My Experience
I have been working with children, adolescents, families, adults and mothers since 2002 in a variety of different settings. I have provided services in a variety setting including schools, residential programs, drug treatment centers, community based mental health, and hospitals in addition to growing my own private practice. My diverse trainings and experiences allow me to provide services rooted in research but tailored specific to who you are as a person as I believe that you are the expert of your own life and experiences.
When I’m not in the office I can be found trying to spend as much time outside, if it is in the middle of summer I can usually be found submerged in the closest body of water. I’m a lover of animals and have two cats, two rescue pups and the occasional owl that will take up residence in the owl house in the backyard. I love all things related to comedy and can understand how laughter can help us hold the pain and suffering in life if only to bring us a brief moment of joy during a dark time. Most importantly I’m a wife, mother, daughter and sister.
