Hello
I’m so glad you found my page and are taking this first step to find someone to meet with. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work providing therapy in North Austin. I was born and raised in Central Texas. I left several times to live elsewhere, London and California to name a few, but I always returned home. No place can quite live up to the beauty of the hill country, the kindness of strangers, and how Austin will always feel like home.
My Style
Whether this is your first time engaging in therapy, or just your first time meeting with me, I understand that it can be scary and it takes immense courage to show up to the therapy space. During sessions we will build upon that strength. I approach the space with gentle curiosity, compassion, and an open heart. I recognize how important a safe relationship is within the therapy space and it can take time to build that relationship. It is within the co-created therapy space we build together that can enable change to begin. I have found healing through my own therapy and it is important in our work together for you to know that you are not alone. I see you and I will meet you in a space free of judgement with compassion and hope.
My Experience
Since 2002, I have worked with children, adolescents, families, adults, and mothers in a variety of settings, including schools, residential programs, drug treatment centers, community-based mental health, and hospitals while establishing my own private practice. My diverse training and experience allow me to provide services rooted in research, but tailored specific to who you are as a person because I believe that you are the expert of your own life and experiences.
When I’m not in the office I can be found trying to spend as much time as possible outside. If it is in the middle of summer I can usually be found submerged in the closest body of water. I’m a lover of animals and a cat, two rescue pups, and the occasional owl that will take up residence in the owl house in the backyard. I love all things related to comedy and understand how laughter can help us hold the pain and suffering in life, if only to bring us a brief moment of joy during a dark time. Most importantly I’m a wife, mother, daughter, and sister.
